Inmiddels hoeven wij de 928 geen introductie meer te geven, al helemaal aangezien dit het 4e exemplaar is wat wij aanbieden.
Een 928 is een model die je uitermate weinig op de weg ziet, de meesten staan in de garage te wachten op een opknapbeurt. Want als er iets essentieel is bij dit model, is dat er mee gereden moet worden. Laat dat nou ook precies zijn wat de vorige eigenaar met deze S4 gedaan heeft.
Gedurende de zomer maanden werden de 320 paarden losgelaten en gebruikte hij zijn bronze broeder voor allerlei uitstapjes, zelfs voor wat woon-werk-verkeer. Want wat mis je in een 928 wat je in een modernere auto wel krijgt?
Airco? Nee zeker niet, deze 928 is uitgevoerd met duo airco, zowel voor de bestuurder en passagier, als de twee opgevouwen kinderen op de achterbank. Een erg gelimiteerde optie, vrijwel nooit wordt dit gevonden in een 928.
Comfort? Pffft, een 928 is een van de fijnste reisgenoten die je je maar kan wensen.
Bluetooth radio? Is aanwezig, een hele fijne Blaupunkt die perfect overgaat in de rest van het interieur.
Maar wat maakt deze 928 nou zo speciaal? Het is een redelijk vroege 928 S4 uit 1988 gespecificeerd in Platinum Metallic met bruin leer. Als je dan nog wat dieper graaft dan kom je er achter dat Porsche deze kleur alleen van 1981 tot 1984 heeft geleverd op de 928S. Hoe is dit dan mogelijk? Optie code L999 verraadt het, hier werden namelijk alle kleuren onder geschaard die alleen verkregen konden worden op basis van Special Order. Hoeveel 928 S4's er rond rijden in deze kleur weten we niet, maar een afbeelding zoeken op Google is al lastig zat. Maar niet alleen de lakkleur is uniek, ook het interieur is 'Custom'. Bij specificatie is er een stuk leer aangeleverd door Dhr. H. Geiger en dit is als voorbeeld genomen voor het gehele interieur, uitermate speciaal.
Maar laten we het even hebben over de staat van het voertuig. De lak ziet er nog zeer keurig uit. Al helemaal als je je bedenkt dat deze 928 al 36 jaar oud is. Weinig tot geen krasjes en helemaal geen deukjes. Steenslag is beperkt tot een minimum, ondanks dat de 928 toch echt gemaakt is voor snelweg kilometers, en het liefst met een snelheid van boven de 150 km/u. De originele geannodiseerde 'Gullideckel' velgen zijn ook in zeer goede staat en zijn gevangen in Continental ContiSportContact rubber, heerlijk sportief maar ook zeer comfortabel.
Het interieur is, zoals u aan de foto's kunt zien, nog ongelooflijk net. De stoelen zijn nog origineel en zijn niet overgetrokken, het leer is heerlijk soepel en alle knopjes werken naar behoren. Want knopjes heeft deze auto genoeg. Opties als Elektrische Stoelverstelling met memory functie, Stoelverwarming voor beide kanten, Lendensteun voor de bestuurder, Elektrisch schuifdak en vergeet uiteraard niet de Dubbele-airco zoals eerder benoemd. Alle functies werken uiteraard ook. Ik denk dat er maar weinig 928's zo compleet zijn uitgerust als deze, combineer dat met het PTS lakwerk en het interieur en je hebt een zeer unieke wagen.
Zijn er nog opmerkingen op technisch gebied? Nee, absoluut niet. Recent is de gehele motor nog onderhanden genomen bij Garage De Loods in Den Dolder a €8225,25. Denk hierbij aan nieuwe koppakkingen, nieuwe distributie riemen etc. Voor aanschaf in 2021 is de Automaatbak gereviseerd en dat voel je, eenmaal warm schakelt ze heerlijk door en is ze erg bij de les, iets wat een groot verschil ten opzichte van 928's uit eerdere bouwjaren.
Volledige historie is aanwezig. Voor zover wij weten zijn alle originele documenten nog aanwezig, inclusief een map met historie en de Porsche Geburtsurkunde.
Al met al ga je het niet meer jaren 80 krijgen dan dit, een S4 in een unieke kleurstelling met een zeer lage kilometerstand, al helemaal voor een Europees exemplaar. Mocht je dit zoeken dan zou ik snel zijn, want dit ga je niet meer vinden.

By now we don't need to give an introduction to the 928, especially since this is the 4th variant we offer.
A 928 is a model that you see very rarely on the road, most are waiting in the garage for a makeover. Because if there is one thing that is essential with this model, it is that it has to be driven. And that is exactly what the previous owner did with this S4.
During the summer months, the 320 horses were unleashed and he used his bronze brother for all kinds of trips, even for some commuting. Because what do you miss in a 928 that you get in a more modern car?
Air conditioning? No, certainly not, this 928 is equipped with duo air conditioning, for both the driver and passenger, as well as the two folded children on the back seat. A very limited option, this is almost never found in a 928.
Comfort? Pffft, a 928 is one of the nicest travel companions you could wish for.
Bluetooth radio? Is present, a very nice Blaupunkt that blends in perfectly with the rest of the interior.
But what makes this 928 so special? It is a fairly early 928 S4 from 1988 specified in Platinum Metallic with brown leather. If you dig a little deeper, you will find out that Porsche only supplied this color from 1981 to 1984 on the 928S. How is this possible? Option code L999 gives it away, because all colors that could only be obtained on the basis of Special Order were classified under this. We do not know how many 928 S4s are driving around in this color, but searching for an image on Google is already difficult enough. But not only the paint color is unique, the interior is also 'Custom'. When specifying, a piece of leather was supplied by Mr. H. Geiger and this was taken as an example for the entire interior, extremely special.
And if you think, that name rings a bell. Mr. H. Geiger was indeed part of the family that invented the Geiger counter.
But let's talk about the condition of the vehicle.
The paint still looks very neat. Especially when you consider that this 928 is already 36 years old. Few to no scratches and no dents at all. Stone chips are limited to a minimum, despite the fact that the 928 is really made for highway kilometers, and preferably with a speed of over 150 km/h. The original anodized 'Gullideckel' rims are also in very good condition and are captured in Continental ContiSportContact rubber, wonderfully sporty but also very comfortable.
The interior is, as you can see from the photos, still incredibly neat. The seats are still original and have not been re-upholstered, the leather is wonderfully supple and all the buttons work properly. Because this car has enough buttons. Options such as Electric Seat Adjustment with Memory Function, Seat Heating for Both Sides, Lumbar Support for the Driver, Electric Sliding Roof and of course don't forget the Double Air Conditioning as mentioned earlier. All functions work of course. I think there are few 928s as fully equipped as this one, combine that with the PTS paintwork and the interior and you have a very unique car.
Are there any technical comments? No, absolutely not. The entire engine was recently overhauled at Garage De Loods in Den Dolder for €8225.25. Think of new cylinder head gaskets, new timing belts, etc. Before purchasing in 2021, the automatic transmission was overhauled and you can feel that, once warm it shifts wonderfully and is very alert, which is a big difference compared to 928s from previous years.
Complete history is available. As far as we know, all original documents are still available, including a folder with history and the Porsche Geburtsurkunde.
All in all, you won't get more 80s than this, an S4 in a unique color scheme with a very low mileage, especially for a European example. If this is what you are looking for, I would be quick, because you will not find this anymore.
